Contessa 26 kept at local sailing club stood ashore for the Winter. Last survey was carried out in 2017 which concluded that she was in good condition but needed some TLC and cosmetics. In 2019, the engine was overhauled and new engine mounts were fitted. Summer 2020 the topsides have undergone refurbishment and a repaint...
Every Contessa 26 carries it's own solid, dependable provenance. This example was built in 1968. modifications have been carried out on her to make her a useful day sailer : a new stack pack main sail. Head sail furling system. The water system has been removed. the toilet uninstalled, it is included in the sale. All berths cushions have been recovered and are kept in dry store off the vessel, as have her sails.

A full set of berth cushions, Blue velvet fabric, all unused and dry stored.
A double gas stove, gas bottle removed on recommendation from surveyor.
Sea toilet was taken out and the pipework removed. It is included in the sale and would required re installing.
Main cabin: Two opposing full length berths both have lee cloths.
Standing headroom of 5ft 7ins approx. Stowage under bunks.
amid ships the galley station with gas stove (unconnected) gimballed double burner with grill. Opposite, there was a sink, presently no water system on board. Unit was converted and used as the navigation station.
12 v Cabin lighting ( untested) .
Forward through mast deck bulkhead to starboard is where the toilet would have been now a large heavy duty battery resides, opposite hanging locker space.
A circular fore hatch lid. Fore peak twin berths with an infill to create a large double.
GRP Fixed long keel encapsulated ballast keel. An open deep draining cockpit, two bench seating with stowage lockers beneath them.
A Lazerette locker aft, gives access to the fuel tank, shaft and drainage pipes.
Teak grating over the cockpit sole.Transom hung rudder, stainless steel pintels.
Tiller steering. ( Tiller and rudder heads have canvas covers.
Hull / deck and accommodation housing are two moulded GRP shells, a wooden rubbing strake over the join.
Exterior hull has been painted as has the interior. (Both require a repaint.)
The 2017 survey mentions that the hull was gel stripped and then epoxy paint coatings applied to the under water hull.
